[Triumphs] Long time no see

Well folks, more bad news. If you were wondering why I haven't been to any of the meetings or gatherings, it's because the TR 6 seems to be determined not to run. I lose track of time, but it has been either four or five years that it has been down.

Some of you know the long and bitter saga over the carburetors. I appreciate all the help I got on them. That seems to have been worked out. Now I just need to get it on the road long enough to sort them out. I spent Easter vacation tracking down two shorts and a number of electrical problems. I had the dash and most of the wiring loom out of the car. Put it all back together and now the wipers won't shut off. Had to disconnect them.

But the real problem is the hemorrhaging on the garage floor. While the body was off and the frame was stripped, repaired, painted and reinstalled, I replaced every seal in the transmission, the pan gasket, and the rocker cover seals. Now with less than fifty miles I have a major oil leak from the back top of the engine and the transmission is pumping gear lube onto the exhaust fast enough to cause a fire if I drive it any more.

I am thoroughly discouraged and disgusted. I really don't want to take that darn transmission out the fourth time! I also don't want to particularly set the darn thing on fire... or maybe I do!

Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. It's been so long since I've driven it, I've forgotten why it is I want to get it running. And with cool weather just around the corner, it's even more frustrating.
